How do I import a CSV file?

Templates for importing transactions, bookings, articles, and addresses can be found in the attachment. Please use the appropriate CSV file depending on your use case.

Please note:

  • The file must be provided in CSV format (semicolon separated).

  • The template format must not be changed.

  • The file name must remain unchanged (depending on the template), except for the word accounto-....

  • Only the word template may be replaced.

Example:
accounto-transactions-samplegbh.csv

Import transactions via CSV

1. Fill in the file

For the import, only the following columns are relevant and must be completed:

  • date

  • to_iban

  • amount

  • currency

  • purpose

All other columns remain unchanged.

2. Upload the file

  • Save the file with the adjusted name.

  • Send it by email to the inbound email address.

Important:

  • The email subject must match the file name exactly.

  • You can find the inbound email address under
    Settings > Client Settings

3. Check import

After the import process, the upload will appear within approx. 5 minutes under:

Data flows > CSV Imports

  • Review the transactions.

  • If errors occur, delete the upload using the trash icon and repeat the process.

Import bookings via CSV

The booking import works similarly to transactions, but with a separate template.

Please use the file: accounto-bookings-template.csv

  • Structure and logic differ from transaction imports.

  • Upload and review process are identical.

Import articles via CSV

A separate template is also available for importing articles.

  • Use the corresponding article CSV.

  • Fill in the required fields according to the template.

  • Upload is done the same way as for transactions (via email).

Import addresses via CSV

Addresses can also be imported via CSV.

  • Use the corresponding address CSV.

  • Make sure the template structure is correct.

  • Upload is also done via email.

Important note

If transactions have already been processed into bookings, the CSV upload can no longer be deleted.

In this case, the booking rules must first be deactivated. Then remove the allocations and delete the file afterwards.
